Can Cannabis Help a Xanax Addiction?

We are in an age where many doctors prescribe unnecessarily, which can have a devastating impact on a patient’s long term health. Xanax is a Benzodiazepine, which is often prescribed to combat the debilitating impacts of anxiety and other related conditions. Many medical professionals believe that cannabis can be used in order to reduce the patient’s addition to Xanax. But is this true?

Xanax is actually the most prescribed benzodiazepine drug currently used in the USA, and there have been calls for the medical profession to identify ways that they can reduce the reliance on this drug. It was estimated that nearly 50 million prescriptions for Xanax were produced in just the last year alone. While Xanax can help with panic and anxiety disorders, there are often some quite severe side effects, which sometimes require other medication in order to manage effectively. These side effects include migraines, dizzy spells, dry mouth, depression, constipation and sometimes even memory problems. Long term effects of prolonged use of Xanax often results in severe psychotic episodes in some cases.3

How can we Reduce the Use of Xanax?

Cannabis can reduce Xanax addiction, and now this is backed up with verified research and evidence. Cannabis can be used in the treatment of anxiety, and is proven to achieve results. In patients with anxiety, Cannabis is known to relax the sufferer, and makes them less anxious – without many of the side effects that Xanax often produces. Also, it is impossible to overdose on Cannabis.

If you are an anxiety sufferer, and need to relax but at the same time want to remain focused and motivated, using a strain called Kava Kava could help. This produces the exact same effects of Xanax, but without the side effects such as drowsiness and tiredness. There is a product called 1Hour Break, which uses Kava Kava with a spray. If you need some relief from your anxiety symptoms, all you need to do is spray about 5ml of this product under your tongue, hold for approximately 10 seconds, then swallow. Since the spray avoids the digestive system and goes straight into the blood stream, the effects of the spray are experienced much quicker.

So how does this spray work exactly?

The substance is able to attach to various receptors in the amygdala, which is the area that controls the feelings of anxiety. In doing so, it promotes the body to enter a state of relaxed calmness. Some people compare the effect to having a big hug – it’s that effective!

If you have been using Xanax for a period of years, and wish to try something new to avoid all the quite frankly unnecessary side effects that Xanax produces, we would recommend that you give some of these cannabis products, such as 1Hour Break, a shot to see if it works for you. Remember, if it works, you could wave goodbye to your side effects!
