Tips for Designing Attention-grabbing Window Graphics

When it comes to the retail industry, it is all about grabbing the attention of the people and stirring up their interests when they are at your location (i.e. shop, outlet, etc). For retailers, the best and most effective way to do this would be through easy-to-understand and attractive signage, such as window graphics. The trick to getting these graphics right is to not just convey your business/brand name through them but to use them as a means of informing, educating and advertising what you have to offer to the consumers. Such graphics are like silent salespeople, they grab the attention of your prospective customers and draw them in!

According to a recent survey conducted by FedEx, about 76% of the people, which is 8 out of every 10 people, have said that they entered a store they never visited before just because the graphics on the windows caught their attention. Also, at least 3 out of 4 consumers said that they have made recommendations about a store to their friends and family based on the store’s graphics only! Creating window graphics is not a cakewalk, you will need to get things right in order to be able to generate the desired results from these. Some tips for making eye-catching window signage/graphics are given as under:

– Make sure that the graphics is of suitable size (in proportion to your store window size) because readability matters. On an average, 7-10 inches is the norm for font sizes

– Less is always more, so don’t muddle the message with too much text or graphics. Pick a strong and compelling message and go with it

– To ensure that your signage gets noticed create a contrast so that your text would pop. Dark text with light background and vice-versa works best for such graphics

– Use colours that complements your brand message and business. Also, take into consideration the amount of direct sunlight hitting the window(s) when designing your signage

If you follow these simple tips and execute them well then you are bound to end up with graphics that catch the attention of your target consumers each time they walk past your store window!
