Peter Loftin is known around the United States of America (USA) as one of the leading entrepreneurs of this era. He can be credited for setting up Business Telecommunications Inc. (BTI), which happens to be one of the leading telecom firms in the entire country. However, this is just one side of Loftin, who is perhaps much more reputed for his charitable and social welfare work. For example, at BTI, Peter Loftin has instituted a program whereby specially-abled people in schools across the villages and rural areas of North Carolina are provided the internet for free. If this does not show how much he cares for the community then perhaps nothing else will.
Recognitions coming his way
In fact, Loftin’s social work and contributions have been recognized by the likes of a state disability association that has conferred on BTI an award named Corporate Citizen of the Year. It is not that Loftin has been doing such social work from only a few days back – he has been keen to help children right from the time when he was in his 20s. It was with this aim in mind that he started the program named Coats for Kids. As part of the program, needy kids were given coats for the winter season.
Camp BTI
Peter Loftin has also set up Camp BTI that works with the various girls and boys camps in the country. He also ran Loftin’s 2-on-2 Competition, a basketball program that operated primarily in Atlanta. He has also helped Make-A-Wish Foundation of America as well as Oak Ranch Facility for Troubled Teens. He has also served on the board of American Lung Association as well as Council for Entrepreneurial Development. Apart from that, he has participated in the Board of Visitors at Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
Positions served
Peter Loftin has also been a part of Duke Heart Center at Duke University Medical Center. He has also served on Miami Beach Police Athletic League’s board. It can be said for sure that he has made his mark as an investor and a philosopher. It is said that businessmen who have been successful in their endeavors have traits that also mark them out as great leaders. They also conduct their lives in such a way that they are able to get the results that they want. When you are an effective leader it means that you set some definite goals and then do everything that you can and need to do in order to achieve those goals.
Taking control of destiny
They go ahead and grab destiny by the scruff of its neck and make things happen. They take control and are active. They do not wait for things to happen. They never take no for an answer and are always on the lookout for opportunities to get better.
